bandhavgarh locationBandhavgarh is a famous Tiger Reserve located in country India at South-Asia. Inside India, Bandhavgarh National Park is located in north-eastern border of Madhya Pradesh State in Central India. It lies in northern flanks of the eastern Satpura Mountain range. Madhya Pradesh is also known as Tiger State of India as some of the most premier Project Tiger Reserves of India are in this state. Forest area is spread mostly on hills of Vindhya Ranges. Madhya Pradesh State is divided into number of districts and Bandhavgarh lies in Umaria district surrounded by Vindhya mountain ranges. The latitutde and longitudes are 23° 30' to 23°46' N and 80 ° 11' to36' E. The altitude is between 410 m and 810 m. The mountains of Bandhavgarh tala range are generally composed of sandstone. The soil is generally sandy to sandy-loam. More than twenty streams rise or flow through the park. Some of the important streams of Bandhavgarh are Johilla, Janadh, Charanganga, Damnar, Banbei, Ambanala and Andhiyari Jhiria. All these streams merge into the Sone river, which is an important southern tributary to the Ganges. Next to Bandhavgarh, one can visit Kanha National Park or World Famous Khajuraho Temples. Bandhavgarh lies in North-East of Kanha Tiger Reserve and South East of World Heritage Khajuraho Temples.

Umaria (at 37kms) & Katni (at 100kms) are the nearest nearest railway stations for Bandhavgarh. Nearest Airport is at a distance of 200kms in Jabalpur city. Jabalpur Airport (IATA Code: JLR) has direct flight connectivity from Delhi Airport.
